Feline Leukemia
Always Retest!
Rascal the Siamese kitten hadn't been alive long, but so far, he was really having bad luck. He was born without hearing or sight, and now he'd been diagnosed with feline leukemia.
The person looking after him called Best Friends to ask if the sanctuary or anyone else could take in this special needs fur ball. Staffer Amy Hogg suggested that first, his feline leukemia diagnosis should be confirmed with an IFA test.
So Rascal went to the vet, where he got his first taste of good luck - he tested negative! The vet was skeptical of the new results, and asked to re-test again. This third test confirmed Rascal's good health. And to top it all off, the vet tech who helped out really liked the little fellow and decided to adopt him!
A negative diagnosis and a new home in one day. Now, that's more like it! Sometimes the smallest tips on the network can lead to the grandest.
