Holly Bukes


Holly Bukes currently serves as president of Pit Bull Rescue Central. She has been volunteering in animal welfare for over 13 years, including work with animal control facilities, foster-home-based animal welfare agencies, and spay/neuter groups. In her local area, she also serves as vice president and secretary for Peninsula Spay/Neuter Project and as treasurer for the Prison Pet Partnership Program. As a member of Rotary, she is co-chair of the Harbor Hounds dog walk in Gig Harbor, Washington.


From 1995 to 2001, Holly was executive director and president of Dreampower Animal Rescue in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 2000, she received the Leadership Volunteer of the Year award from the Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit Partnership. Prior to that, she served as treasurer for Friends of Fairmont Animal Shelter in San Leandro, California. Holly has also served as a regional representative for Doing Things for Animals/Petsavers Foundation. She has a master's degree in business administration.
